Well here is my 2 ISK for the Ferox. ( I love mine! ) If you have good skill in BC (+ range and + resist) it can be set up as a brutal medium range railgun platform that uses missles to strike what evades it's mighty guns. Although ponderous, it has a resilient and flexible aproach to combat.

4x 250mm rails (can fit T2 soonÖ!)

Med. Shield Booster II
Shield boost amplifier ( I want a T2 for this dammit! )
Pasive T2 EM hardener
Passive T2 Thermal hardener
Med Shield Extender (will drop for another hardener soonÖ)

RCU I (damn PG will replace with a PDU once I have engy V)
Magnetic Stabilizer (+dmg +RoF)
Tracking Mod. (Widens engagement envelope)
Balistic Tracking Mod. or WCS (depends on envrioment)
Drones
Vespas or other 100m^3 drone.
Now... the basic idea here was to achieve the following:
1) Good Railgun damage at range with a wide effitive combat envelope as ships of this class can seldom dictate range.
2) Good base resists.
3) Engery Eficiency to sustain capacitor usage.
This ship gets +10% optimal on medium hybrids per level. That's why the ammo choice for starters. 20 base damage vs. antimatter's 26 for half the range penalty.(sic) This bonus, the sharp shooter skill, and a quality instrument allows engagements at 45km and beyond with mearly tech 1 armaments, dependant on skills. The missle systems offer close ranged flexibility when combined with the drones, and aditional power for those targets that need quick elimination.
The other reasoning for the ammunition choice, -25% cap. usage, leads to the above: eficient tanking. In it's current configuration the ferox boosts it's shields at a 2:1 raito for shield HP versus capacitor drain. This combined with the hardeners stretches the capacitor as far as it will go when tanking.
I'll leave the usage and such to your fertile imagination.
(This sucker and the Raptor are my favorites, can't wait for the raptor's 2nd slot and bonus.)
